Purple is one of my favorite colors. I just finished these purple stretch twill pants. I experimented with the machine stitching. I like top stitching because it controls the seam and makes everything look crisp. Looking at my photos, however, I think I should use an invisible zipper or a lapped zipper.
Purple stretch twill.

Yes, true, Lilo. Husbands are a guaranteed date. Yesterday we celebrated 9 year anniversary of marriage and the 7 year anniversary of my daughter’s conception! I have a wonderful little family.

We old women have something much better than dates, we have husbands ;)

I think I must be an old woman! 85% of my pants have the zipper in the back. No wonder I don’t get any dates!

I agree, a zipper in the back center is unusual for pants. Were it on the side, you might get away with it being as it is better, because it would blend in with the fancy side seam. By the way, I love that you used different coloured thread for the topstitching!

Nice! I also love purple & topstitching – fits so nice with the stripes – but I agree with you about maybe using an invisible/lapped zipper. I haven’t seen trousers with the zipper at center back in Europe, it must be an american thing.
