This is a little number I made in a hurry to go out twisting in. It’s essentially your most basic short sleeve t-shirt pattern with six or so triangular godets around the hemline for a little extra flip during those Chuck Berry songs…. i just cut two slices in the dress at the front, two in the back, and one at each side seam, as evenly spaced as possible. Then I sewed the triangles in to the slices one side at a time, and did the full hem after all of the godets were inserted. Just remember: it’s got to be rock and roll music, any old way you choose it, if you want to dance with me.
Lace or mesh is best. It doesn’t fray when cut, like a jersey so you don’t have to worry about all of those pesky slices in your dress falling apart. Plus it has a little extra give, so it fits more snug, like a knit.
