First attempt on a knit dress. For the pattern, I used the instructions from Pattern Drafting by Dressmaking (a Japanese book from the late 60’s) with a few errors. There’s no instruction on how to sew it, so I winged it. It was obviously incorrect because the inside of the collar, which I did last, ended up stretched out from the struggles. It’s a pretty easy one to make, despite the lack of instruction.
Blogged here for the result and here for the origination.
Polyester knit from a re-use craft supply depot, so inexpensive it's perfect for trial projects.

Thank you! I’ve been sewing with woven fabric a lot, and this knit happens to be pretty stable, so it didn’t slip around. :)

Oh, it sounds really interesting with a Japanese dressmaking book from the 60’s! The dress looks really nice and comfortable, and yet the collar makes it look very elegant.
