A slightly flaring A-line skirt (Burda Pattern 8281). I spotted this purple and grey tartan material and could not resist, I immediately pictured a skirt! Matching up the tartan on the back and front pieces was not quite the easiest job for a novice like myself, but after some hours of practice it turned out well! (I practiced on some other material so not to spoil this material!) I had some help with the zipper, need some more practice here! Overall, I am very excited about the final product, and it definitely inspired me to keep experimenting with materials and patterns…the joy of sewing! :)

So simple and nice. I have a weakness for tartan myself…

Lovely skirt- I love tartan. I like the black panel at the bottom as well.
