I used the Anita pattern to make these jeans. I modified them by adding 4" of length and changing the shape and design of the pockets. The pockets say “ninja” and have a city skyline. I bought white fleece backed cotton, dyed it purple and went for it!

These are awesome, I love them. I never would’ve thought of using fleece! I think they look good on you too, I’m glad you’re happy with your curves cause I would kill to have some curves like yours.

JJ, I live on Cobane at the intersection of Northfield and Gregory. I’m 17, I currently go to Newark Academy in Livingston. How about you?

Purple is my fav. color!
Where in West Orange do you live? I’m from
W.O., NJ too.

Yeah, I accidentally made them too tight so they started pulling at the seams a bit at first, but like someone else said, they’ve loosened up a lot now. In the future I’d make them looser. I was going to add belt loops but I think belt loops with sweatpants is kinda weird!

you should add belt loops. to me it’s always important to wear a belt. but that’s my personal opinion.
besides that I don’t think your too “curvacious” to wear skinny jeans.
the color is great! and the orange thread fits perfectly. I would wear it, too!

Actually I think it suits you…
Yeah, about the center back seam-you should probably topstitch it so it doesn’t suddenly rip when you sit down or something…
—it happened to me although I think it was because the fabric didn’t have any stretch :)— lolMar 6, 2008, 06.59 AMby ceregana
hey skarinja i am sure dairyheir66 didn’t wanted to offend you. we all have our personal views on style that is very subjective. I love the colors! I wouldn’t dare to make such a complicated pattern out of cotton fleece – it tends to get baggy over time but i think you rock it. I like the idea a lot.

skarinja, you’ve got every right to be proud of your curves! And I think you did a great job on your trousers. I like the stitching on the pockets and the dyeing worked really well. I would like to make one critical remark though. I’ve made some trousers like Anita before, so I know where problems usually start and that’s at center back. The combination of such a different fabric and this ‘skinny fit’ design puts a lot of stress on the seams, and I can already see that showing at your center back seam in the detail shot. Also, in the same picture, it is visible that it must have been quite hard to line up those horizontal seams along the vertical one. This was a lot harder for you now than it would have been using jeans or something like that because fleece backed cotton has some stretch in all directions.
No matter what, keep up the adventurous spirit and keep on sewing!

Dairyheir66, I’m proud of my curvacious hips and the muscles of an athlete. I’m 17, 5’9" and 134 pounds. I’m happy.
And I like showing off my curves.

The pockets are great! Really nice idea :)

Love the color. I don’t think this a particularly flattering style for you.

Wow, wait so you made these out of cotton fleece? It’s like sweat pant material? Never would have guessed, looks good!
I love love love the stitching on the back pockets.
