I made this dress from Vogue Pattern V8280. It was the most difficult project to date, but so rewarding to see the finished product — I never knew I could make anything so nice!

Wow!! This is gorgeous. I will definitely be trying this. May take a few practice goes but if the end result is as good as yours it will be perfect

Hi, looks nice. I bought the pattern too and I have some fabric waiting for it :) What was most difficult part? Did you find the right size at once or did you do any trial version? I made one vogue dress before and the size was way too big. Finally I ended up making two sizes smaller than the size chart suggested.

I made this dress for myself a few years ago now – and it was a Class A disaster!
Your dress, however is lovely. You have done a splendid job and it fits you nicely. Did you have trouble with finding a bra that didn’t show to wear underneath? I did – but looking at your photo it looks like you may have adjusted the pattern. I wish I had – now mine is hiding in the back of the wardrobe….pretending it doesn’t exist!
You should be very proud!

Great job. The sleeves are really interesting – are they pleated?

Ha fabulous!
I literally just ordered Colette Patterns Cylon dress – http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop/ceylon with the view to changing the bottom to a straight skirt (as rule number 1 no horizontal lines at widest points and their current skirt join line would hit at my absolute widest point! )
I’d been looking about on the internet for a reference with a straighter skirt and not finding much…I returned from PayPal hit refresh on projects and there is your wonderful original….very similar but with a straight skirt !!!!Thank you! Your dress is lovely and I will certainly be using it as inspiration :) :) :)
