My first attempt at the portrait blouse from Gertie’s Book for Better Sewing . Quite happy with the finished result except Im not happy with the effect of the pleats . It seems to cause puffing round the middle which isnt too flattering. I got a bit lost with the tracing and sizing of the patterns . This is something i need to practice , because Gertie’s book is really very generous with the amount of patterns it includes . Anyhoo I really like the 50s silhouette and it goes great with a pencil skirt .
