I received a beautiful gift: an original 1961 blue wedding dress – pure silk lace for the sheath dress, and silk shantung for the light coat (overdress? I don’t know the right term). After fitting it to my size (not my work really, I am a novice seamstress and it is too precious…), I had a little idea: why not make matching shoes with the scraps?
You can see my “before” shoes. A lot of knots with lace and shantung tiny stripes (not hemmed), two long double stripes in shantung, a bit of handstitching to secure it and they’re done! I like them… and I can easily “undress” them to restore the former state because I did not use glue….
