Description

I have fond memories of a coat my mom had that we called her sleeping bag coat. I made this one out of a comforter and drafted the pattern myself off a coat I bought at thrift store.

Material Notes

Down-alternative fill comforter.

Awesome idea…I’d been saving an old down comforter so that I could try and use the filling to make a coat. Now that I know it really can be done, I think I’ll try it.

This reminds me SO much of my Garndma’s coat. And the bricks and neighborhood in the pictures look exactly like her town. Good memories. Awesome puffy coat. The comforter idea is killer.

This is such and awesome idea! In Portland, I guess now is the RIGHT time for this coat too.

For Ichigogirl, a comforter is the thick blanket for a bed. Very warm and they come in some beautiful designs. I do not the word for your language.

Oh, it looks SO COSY! Like you’d want to go outside more in cold weather than in warm weather just to get to be all wrapped up in warmness and still breathe cold, fresh air… But what exactily is a comforter?
