I was inspired by Zowie’s ‘Broken Machine’ music video :)
I used the basic sloper pattern from Burdastyle (thanks Alisondahl!) and a sleeve pattern piece from another, printed pattern I had in my enormous pile of patterns.
you cant see so well but the jacket has a very large hood – so that if I have styled my hair up I can still wear the hood without messing up my hair.
I wear this jacket when life gets a bit overwhelming and I need to feel fierce :)
the white stuff is a stiff but light weight beige pvc
– it helps to put newsprint paper over both sides of the pvc when sewing – its easy to rip off and means that the sewing machine foot slides over it easily. I have bought sewing machine feet that are supposed to cope with pvc, but none of them do.
The black stuff is a snakeskin-embossed black suiting – I wish I’d bought 10 meters of that at the time, it’s so cool and it sold out in days :(
