Description

I took the slightly scary plunge and used laminated cotton to make a raincoat that has a bit of a girl-spy feel to it. At least, I feel a bit espionage-prone while wearing it. Now I’m on the hunt for matching rainboots!

The pattern and laminated fabric are both Amy Butler.

A full rundown of pictures and details are on my blog, but the key points to laminated fabric are to stock up on scotch tape and binder clips!

Material Notes

Laminated cotton, lining quilt-weight cotton.

That’s ACE! I love the the inside and the outside! I bought a teflon foot for sewing oilcloth, and its good for laminated cottons too, give it a go, it really works! x

Wow, laminated! You’re a brave soul to try that; and it paid off for you. The coat is very cute. I’ve always been fascinated by the laminated cottons, but scared to try them.
