This dress is closest to a maxi dress that I’ve made in last couple of years.. Two years ago this kind of mullet skirts were popular and I wanted to make my own version.. I even went to pull&bear store to try on a similar dress so I could see if I like how it looks on me.. The fabric is chiffon.. I fell in love with birds in vibrant colors.. If my memory serves well, I modified shirt pattern #104 from Burda 08/2011 as bodice.. The skirt is hand drafted.. At the waist, the bodice and the skirt are connected with the elastic.. There was no need for zipper.. The underskirt is shorter length and I used black viscose for it..
I was counting on the wind while we were taking the photos.. The skirt has a beautiful movement.. Surprisingly, there was minimal wind, close to none.. Maybe some other time we’ll take another try..
