Description
got my first ever serger some time ago
this is the very first thing i made using it
..
and i think i’m in love with my new serger
i had no idea sewing can be so fast
(i did all my previous sewing on cheap toyota machine
that i bought in a supermarket)
..
i self drafted the pattern
it’s just a basic bodice, cut at the waist
and full circle peplum
no need for zippers, cause i used knit fabric
..

The domestic serger is Minerva’s divine gift to the lowly home sewer. But know now that you must use it for good, at least most of the time…

i promise to be good to my divine gift, to oil it and pamper it regularly, and to write it an ode from time to time :)

Wow, this is so colourful and cool, I love it! How did you fit the bodice and the peplum onto 0.8 metres of fabric? Was it especially wide? I thought peplums were like circle skirts that use up a lot of fabric…

thanks.. yes, circle skirts use up a lot of fabric, but peplum is not as nearly wide as a skirt, and i saved fabric by cutting two half circle parts.. and, it also helps that bodice is really small, so it saves fabric as well..

Cute! It has a vintage vibe but is right on trend with the peplum!

thanks, julia.. i’m totally mad about prints, my closet looks like an explosion of color hehe (that often gives me hard time, as it’s not always easy to combine those prints for an outfit)
