Psychedelic Leopard Skirt

I love how the Burda skirt looked, especially the view C. When I decided to use up this old jersey I had for years, this was the only skirt of interest that would fit into my meager 2 yards that would take advantage of the fabric’s lovely drape. (I had wanted to squeeze two tops out of the same 2 yards as well.) I underlined it because my fabric felt a bit too thin for an ultimately tight-fitting skirt. I’m very pleased with the result.

There’s a bit more detail about the process on my blog – including my non-standard size selection and deviations to make it work for me.

Material Notes

Turquoise leopard print polyester-lycra microfiber jersey from B&J Fabrics, NYC.
Skin color lightweight Power Mesh from Tia Knight / Tissu Fabrics for underlining.

Thank you! Yes, the 2nd picture shows one of the two top I did manage to squeeze out of the same fabric. It’s Vogue 1282 Donna Karan cowl neck top.

Actually Merche showed off the same top and skirt combination – see her project at: I liked her combination so much I decided to make the same top & skirt! :-)

The other top is a modified McCall pattern. And yes, I love having 2-piece dresses that gives me triple the pleasure!

Thank you! This was an one-off mega-effort styling. Gave me such appreciation for the fabulous photos one sees in the magazines!
