the pattern for this jacket comes from a book i found at kinokuniya bookstore here in san francisco. the book, entitled sweet dress recipe, contains numerous adorable blouse, dress, and jacket patterns. when i found this beautiful wool plaid and the nice complementary brown yarn, i decided that this would be the pattern i tried first. the collar, waistband, and cuffs are hand knit.

in response to sewobsessed’s note: no i do not speak japanese, so following the instructions was a bit of an adventure. the illustrations were pretty good, albeit somewhat brief. luckily the crucial info was in numbers. and it helps that i’ve been sewing for nearly twenty years so i have a firm understanding of how to construct garments.
thanks for the comments!
