i made this coat out of a wool herringbone from moodfabrics.com and lined it with flannel-underlined china silk. i used simplicity 2311 and for the most part it is a really great pattern. i had to redraft a few things (changing from one piece to two piece sleeve, drafted a back lining piece, added in-seam welt pockets to name a few) but i loved the style lines so much that i didn’t mind. my favorite bit though is the contrast handworked buttonholes. while i’m by no means an expert on these bad boys, i really enjoyed the process and will definitely work to perfect my skill!
i posted extensively over on my blog from fabric selection to the finished object. thanks for reading!
