I got this fabric months ago from Joann’s and wanted to make a coat from the get go. It has taken me a while because I had to use every scrap of fabric to make it happen, but I think it was totally worth it. I love it. BTW, my daughter is very camera happy…she needed to be in the pic and in front. She’s the star. Simplicity 2812
Home decor blue fabric with brown velvet leaves, Flannel backed satin for lining and great 1 inch buttons

I used pattern Simplicity 2812 and didn’t change it at all. It was perfect just the way it was. The collar only has the top layer ruffled and it is larger than the bottom layer so it covers it completely. the sleeves also have a pleat in the bottom which I thought was genius.

Nice job, I love that collar! Can you tell me – are both collar panels ruffled, or just the one on the top? I’d like to copycat that detail… :) AnaP.S. your daughter’s so sweet :)

It looks like an expensive coat from a fancy store. Nice! Great job! Did you use any pattern?
