This my variation of the Katjusha. I used my bodice block and drafted princess seams from it. Very fun! The back is shirred much like the Katjusha. I had a lot of fun making this, but wish I had bought enough fabric to make a circle skirt. I would have liked a fuller skirt, but I didn’t want to add a lot of gathers at my midsection.
Dropped the waist just slightly because I have such a short torso and large bust, I feel like dresses that stop at my waist make me look so stocky.

I love this and it looks so good on you too! I’m in the middle of piecing this pattern together for my daughter but I would love to make one for myself too. Beautiful job!

Thanks so much, ladies! I hope I’ve inspired other women to make this dress! Making a basic bodice block(sloper) is the best thing I’ve ever done for my sewing. :)
