As soon as I saw this pattern I had to do it.
I was reading “Holes” by Louis Sachar to my older son, and I pictured the teacher turn outlaw Kate Barlow .. just like that. The hair happened to be red :-)
I initially planned a plain colour frock, however, in the meantime, I discovered this very unusual jersey dating back to late 60s or early 70s. Older than I am!
Here is the result!
As described by the pattern authors:
“A pointed hip yoke and box pleat skirt make this architectural style stand out. This proper princess style is mature and original, perfect for understated elegance at a cocktail or office party. It would also look lovely without sleeves!”
I had to choose the buttoned version with button loops. I have placed three buttons on each cuffs and four on the shoulder. Simply because I was restricted by the number of available buttons!
