I used the Princess Dress pattern because I wanted that fun and flirty silhouette, however, I wanted a more casual and warm fabric for everyday winter life in the midwest. The green small wale corduroy fits this bill. The large cream and leather belt was needed to break up the all green and give more dimension to the waist before the skirt flared.

Wonderful work! Small wale corduroy is an excellent choice for the weather in the Midwest. It’s pretty cold right now!

Very nice…I like how you use a different fabric. I was thinking the same thing because I really don’t go for metallic at all. Well done

I am totally stunned by your take on the dress. I rather liked the pattern in the magazine, but I wasn’t fond of the dress Burda created. The fabric kinda ruined it for me, I think their choice was pretty bad. I couldn’t quite believe your dress is based on this pattern because it looks so good! You really managed to bring out the best of this pattern. The dress looks playful, but also grown-up. Very well done! :)
