A fairytale princess costume for a fantasy/fairytale themed costume party.
Silk dupioni corset top. Knee-length silk dupioni 6-panel skirt with hand pleated satin ribbon hem. Skirt propped up with a 6-hoop crinoline and dressed up with an ivory satin draped overskirt with lace hemming and bow detailing.

I think the corset appears to be from a Butterick pattern. They had a few different historical corset patterns available. I believe simplicity has some now too.

WOW, this is gorgeous! I’m real glad though that I’m not living in the times when women had to wear such dresses, it really does not seem very comfortable to wear (not to mention sitting down or go potty in, LOL)…

This is beautiful! You did a really good job of keeping the “Candy floss” idea going without being too… pink. I would love to see pictures of it on! And I definitely respect the hand pleated trim; I did mine by hand too; what a pain! Any tips to make it go easier?
