This is the first dress I make for the Colette Spring/Summer Palette Challenge and I am pretty happy about it. I wanted to challenge myself with the pattern and use new techniques: pipping inserting and boning for the corset. I can move without fear of the top falling, this is great as I plan on wearing this dress at a wedding and it needs to be confortable enough to eat and dance all night long.
I used Vogue 1174 by designer Cynthia Steffe for the top and my own skirt pattern for a fuller style.
The fabric is a nice satin silk with blue, pink and yellow embroided flowers.

Thank you. In case you want to use the pattern, beware of the huge sizing!

When I first saw the pattern, I knew I had to try it. In case you consider sewing it,be careful, the sizing is way too big ( I had to cut down 3 sizes!).

Gorgeous fabric, I love the delicate print – your dresses are beautiful . I’m inspired to make more summery 50s style dresses now, unfortunately the weather in Wales isn’t as warm as Spain!

Thank you Laracrj! I fell in love with the fabri when I saw it: the flowers are not printed but embroided on the silk. And even if Sapin is warmer than Wales, I’ll have to wait a little bit to wear the dress as the weather is dreadful right now…
