Newport, Rhode I...
I copied a pattern from an A&F favorite skirt & made this for fall / winter in TN.
Maybe not the best photo for skirt detail, but perhaps you can see Haden seems to like it. Certainly, a perfect model for the project.
Made like a jeans skirt (using skinny wale cord), with front & back pocket detail (lined in a Pink Panther fabric), darts, front lapped zipper (4") with waistband, a few patches and bunny button. I added my Seaside Laundry labels done by ink jet computer printer copier (you can see on front) and also a tab or two for school tools. Lots of stitching for durability and extra little odd shaped pockets.
Basic idea is it was really easy to copy for her by using something she liked and that fit because I am 1,200 miles away. Trying to use pattern or measurements (for me) risky with the distance.
Tiny wale corduroy, Pink Panther print cotton, zipper shortened to 4", Seaside Laundry printed labels, bunny button and thread.
Hit the city streets in adventurous looks with utilitarian details like cargo pockets and belts.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
