I made this dress for a BBQ I attended a few weeks ago. The material is soft and light so it’s perfect for June. I created paper-bag style pleats for the waistline. I think it adds nice detail to the dress. This dress is my own design
It is made from gold slinky jersey recycled from another dress (thanks Marie!) and lined with beige silk jersey left over from my lace gown. I used Taupe silk jersey ordered from ebay for the bottom of the dress. The black waistband is recycled from an old topshop dress – it is a flat thick heavy duty woven chord. I took the dome studs off another dress that I saw on too many people so I wont be wearing it again. 1 × 7″ invisible side zip.
One of the most beloved American designers passed last night. We look back at a few of his designs.
