Prairie Dress

Added Nov 22, 2012

I made this dress after I saw a similar one in a store, which didn’t fit me. Unfortunately, with this fabric, it evoked some rather unwanted associations with “The Little House on the Prairie”. Despite that, it’s a very comfortable and warm dress which I like to wear.
The pattern is no. 109 from burdastyle 1/2010, with modifications. Construction was quite straight forward and not difficult at all, until I made a big mistake by cutting into a seamline where the right sleeve would have to be set in.
You can read more about that on my blog: Marie in the cave

The Little House on the Prairie angle is what I LOVE about it. Flashback to my 1980’s Prairie blouses with the side buttons. Swooon. :) I love it on you.
