I decided to line this as I was using quite a lightweight material, it’s worked well but I’ll need to alter the pattern to fit my strange shape-rather than alter the dress as I made it :-)
I lined it following the instructions on the child’s dress I like making. (“Child Summer Frock” but I’ve taken the link off as I don’t want this coming up on the child’s dress page too).
Think I should have followed Angela’s instructions and made the dress how it was supposed to be! Although next time I’ll fully line it and use a heavier material so I can wear it for work too.
(It’s a practice dress as I am getting used to my new machine and overlocker).
Polycotton.

Thats a good idea, Ive got to alter the pattern for a perfect fit for me.
Lining it has been good, I think the split is a little high for me, might make it as a kick pleat next time. Then I’ll make it lots if time and have a full work wardrobe but I love this for the summer, it’s really comfortable. Good luck, looking forward to your pics :-)
