Description

So this skirt was meant to be the first thing I made with a vintage pattern. Ha, I made it following the pattern (see photo) and hated it – it was far bigger and floatier that in the drawing. So I took it apart again, to take some of the fabric out of it I put box pleats in the back which I sewed shut until about 4" from the bottom. I added v darts at the front but it was still too wide so I just pinned around me and sewed. It came out pretty well in the end and has given me a bit of confidence to stray from the pattern.

Material Notes

Stretch houndstooth crushed velvet
