This is a simple alteration to a t-shirt for someone recovering from shoulder surgery. The basic idea is to split the shoulder seam and insert velcro, snaps or buttons so the wearer can dress themselves without having to stress the shoulder. I’ve done these for both my husband and daughter, who both used them after rotator cuff surgery. It makes dressing much easier and less painful.
T-shirt that fits the patient loosely (I recommend one size larger than normal)
1 to 1.5 inch wide twill tape
Velcro, buttons, or snaps (patient’s choice)
