Post-apocalyptic ballgown

Added Jul 6, 2010

by alyb

London, United K...

an outfit I made to attend a post-apocalyptic themed ball. I didn’t originally intend to make a skirt from scratch but the hooped underskirt was too big to fit under any of my existing skirts!
Hairfalls, corset and hat are purchased but the skirt, leather overskirt and cape are made by myself

Material Notes

taffeta, leather, venice lace trimmings

Garment Type
Evening Wear, Goth/Gothic Lolita, Other, Steampunk, Victorian
Leather/Fur, Taffeta

hairfalls by Miss Needles
skirt pattern from Truly Victorian

Thanks! it is a lovely skirt pattern; turned out to be very versatile too as I’ve since used it as an underskirt for a few other outfits.

This is so amazing! Nice work on incorporating purchased items and tying it together with your own work. Awesome outfit!

Thanks! It was a post-apocalyptic themed event but one of the outfit suggestions/tribes leant itself to steampunk. :-)
