My boyfriend was “Possom” from the song by Phish “Possom”, meaning he was possom roadkill. We thought possom was very appropriate considering we were going to Festival 8.
I used felt, fur and cotton mostly.
If someone needs a pattern I could generate one.. but this was mostly just an idea for inspiration.
I tried to make this as cartoonish as possible. It was more funny than anything!

Aw thanks. I feel it is a bit primative.. being one of the first projects on my new machine. I hadn’t sewn anything in years.. but loved it so much.. and went out and bought a new machine.
It was very time consuming.. but we flew it in a suitcase to Palm Springs and I was worried that the security would question what it was! It is actually really funny in person.. it goes with a long joke. A band we love called Phish has a song called Possom. Which we like. But my little sister who I have guardianship of, back when she lived with my mom.. woke up woke up in the middle of the night one summer to a possom in her bed (it was my bed.. I was gone for the night) She went to snuggle it thinking it was our cat! Then this summer we were painting a mural on our garage and a possom had been hit by a car and was dragging itself through our back yard.. we were just playing the song.. having a bbq. It ended up committing suicide in our rain catcher bucket.. and my boyfriend had to fish it out.
So we felt after going through all of this possom stuff that it was poetic to wear it to the Festival put on by Phish for Halloween. 4 days of camping, 8 set of music.. 40,000 people. It was amazing!

have you ever seen the walt disney picture “A Goofy movie”???? there were some opossum killed by cars… E-QU-AL!!! ahahahaha!!!!!

:) I tried to make this mroe cartoon like and not too gruesome. It was all in fun! I had fun making it.. just silly. Reminded me of the old roadrunner and coyote cartoons..
