Button-up blouse with cap sleeves, shawl collar and peplum, made from Simplicity 6201 View E. I omitted the piping and added about 2 inches to the peplum. The buttons were made with one of those handy covering kits.
For the first time I did all my gathering stitches by hand and was quite pleased with the results. Its a heck of a lot easier to make them nice and even than when doing it by machine.
The pattern called for a fabric with more drape than the quilting-weight cotton I used, but I didn’t have any problems with it.
