I had enough of the fabric I used in the Ponte On The Bias Skirt leftover to make another skirt. This time the skirt was for my Mum. Its a copy of a purchased skirt that she likes very much. I have made three previous versions of this skirt but this version is most true to the original.
The draft is a standard midi length straight skirt with waist darts and with a very slight flare at the sides towards the hem.
The pieces are cut on the straight grain and the zip is at center back.
There is a back vent for walking ease. (The Cupcake Goddess has a fantastic tutorial in the techniques which you can use if you wish to add a back vent to any pattern.)
A waistband is attached to the skirt and is buttoned at centre back above the zip. I used an invisible zip.
The skirt is lined and the lining is attached to the skirt at waistband, zip and back vent.
Ponte di Roma knit
Black satin for lining
