A fun and fast project using the Pretty Ditty’s Simple Fabric Scarf/Shawl Tutorial. What a lovely tutorial! Lots of clear instructions and photos.
I finished the fabric edges with a scarf hem finish using my serger. The sculptural elements are made by pinching pom-poms under the fabric and tying them in place with embroidery floss. The pom-pom clusters featured in the tutorial were too heavy looking with this fabric, so I made pom-pom flowers instead.
Gauzy synthetic material in an abstract floral print and gray embroidery floss from my stash. Pom-poms from the thrift store.
One of the most beloved American designers passed last night. We look back at a few of his designs.
