Polyester Scarf Clutch

Added Jan 27, 2011

by pollygirl

Metro Manila, Ph...

I interfaced the top fabric with some cream cotton canvas to make the colors pop, since the fabric was a bit sheer. I also used an old transparent plastic place mat to give the clutch the shape I wanted.

Like my first project, this is also hand-sewn. =)

A bit more about this on my blog

Material Notes

a beautiful old polyester scarf, corduroy for the lining, metal zipper, cotton canvas and an old plastic place mat.

wow..that looks fantastic and i love the reuse of the placemat…i have a few weird and wonderful things inside things i make too! lol

It is a lovely item for using those scarves, i have lots of them and they don’t get the wear they deserve. A lovely creation…well done!

I was hesitant to use the place mat at first, since I wasn’t sure how it’d turn out, but I really like how it did. Thank you for your kind comment. :)
