I have a basic top pattern that I use for knits and that fits me well. I now have several versions of it depending on the look I want. When I saw the Knit Wrap Top I wanted to make it.

I used the arms and back of my basic top and copied the front piece from the Burda pattern. I made the following changes:
I eliminated the back part. I wanted a regular shoulder seam.
I shortened the shoulder width, because I did not like the dropped shoulders. This meant I had to move the collar closer to the arm opening.
I added a longer collar to the front, so it would go around the neckline in the back and have a seam in the middle of the back.
I changed the curve of the side seams so they would match my back pattern piece.
I really like how this turned out. I am looking forward to wearing it once it gets a bit warmer. The fabric is very thin, which of course makes it drape so nicely.
If I wanted to use a somewhat thicker fabric I would eliminate the cowl effect to have less drape in the front.
I believe it is a rayon blend jersey.
