This skirt only has one seam going up the back, so was a really satisfying, quick make. I made it using a vintage pattern from 1952 – Simplicity 3983 – and hardly made any changes at all. I increased the waistband by 1.5 inches and shortened it by 8 inches to give it a more modern look. The fabric is a polka dot corduroy and, although the pattern doesn’t specify it, I added a lining which makes it much easier to wear with tights in colder weather!
