My latest sewing adventure was to make myself a top with a bow. I attempted to make this top following a vintage pattern but failed miserably. Instead I based it very very loosely on the Burdastyle Lydia top which has become my sloper/bodice pattern. I added darts, changed the neckline, flared the sleeves, added plackets as well as the bow before sewing on some buttons and voila!

I love this! I usually stay away from polka dots (even though I love them!) because they can look a little too whimsical/adorable, but your blouse is really flattering and classy.

I usually only sew with stretch knits and I forget how easy cotton is to handle it just slips under the needle with barely any guidance. I’d just suggest you follow a pattern that has bust darts and a bit of a roomy sleeve if you wanted to replicate this. The Lydia pattern I used is very far from the end result of what I’ve made. I used it simply because I know it so well and was pretty confident I could change it to what I needed. Good luck!
