Using a Simplicity pattern for a Pirate costume shirt.
Leaving out all ruffles and cord ties, I chose some beautifully light and intricately patterned sari fabric from the local fabric store. Selling by weight I got approximately 3 1/2 metres for £5!
I usually buy 3 1/2 metres for these shirts due to the hefty amount needed for the sleeves.
I love shirts with these huge sleeves… most shops disagree.
I’ve made four so far – This one (third in the queue) A nightdress with purple jersey, a muslin pared-down shirt for a male friend and the first, a simple white shirt (which turned out to be huge) Pictures soon.
Unused sari fabric - chiffon.

I love your shirt, and its costume origins. Great work on styling it three different ways too.
