Description
I made this dress as a way to practice forming a bodice and layering ruffles. The top of the dress is made with jersey, while the ruffles are made with 100% cotton fabric. I added elastic crisscross straps for a bit of extra support.

Very cute! Did you use a pattern or tutorial? I’ve been wanting to try something like this but I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around where to start.

Nope, I just sketched, planned for a bit, then started cutting and sewing. I suggest starting with the bodice first, after that, create the ruffles, then sew them onto a mini skirt-ish type of skirt that will only be seen underneath, then sew the bodice to the skirt. I hope this helps :)
