Description

This is a dress I made with many complications and hassles. That accounts for why it took me so long and why I dragged my feet.
I decided to use a stretch material for this Drape Drape pattern (no5) but with the machine I am using it was a terrible idea. I ended up having to sew every pleat and seam with tracing paper backing, and go over every seam twice. I plan on reinforcing the waistband with my serger once I return to the States.

All in all it is a very pretty dress, it moves well (sorry most of my back shots are moving!)

I altered the pattern a little to make it less revealing, good for stretch, and easier to assemble.

blogged here with more detail!

It’s very, very pretty! I was intending to have a go at this dress too, but I have no idea when I will have the time. I love the colour you chose, and the struggle making it really doesn’t show, it looks all professional…

Although the viscose was hell to work with, it seems to be very forgiving in all of my errors! Good luck with yours, it is actually a very easy pattern and should come together quickly (providing wise choices!!)

Thanks, the color definitely got me through the sewing, I am in love with it! But I fear it is more of a fall color and I won’t be able to wear it till then.

Thank you! It was so fun watching them unexpectedly come together with the little pleats!
