Description

I saw Staciegrissom’s Kate Spade owl bag few weeks ago. I liked how she used old leather scraps to renew that bag so I decided to make one for myself. But, I didn’t wanted to take an existing bag, so I made a new one for a base. I have some pleather scraps (my mom worked in furniture industry) so I chose brownish colors for this beast.

This bag is cca 20 cm’s long. On the upper side is one brown zipper and two handles – I wanted to make it kinda granny-type. The biggest problem are the eyes. I was looking for a spheric button with black glassy effect that would kinda imitate night glow in the all-seeing owl’s eye, but I couldn’t find none. I went to few button stores and searched the boxes filled with buttons at home, but found none that would suit me.
These buttons (brown leather) are attached as a temporary solution, cause I can’t look at this birdie without huge staring eyes :)

EDIT: I have found almost perfect buttons for eyes. Check out the second pic :)

      Not, for now.

      This is only a temporary solution. When I see better ones, that would suit better, they will be replaced immediately :)
