A faux leather bustier and 3/4 circle skirt I made this week.
The sewing’s pretty janky. It was an ambitious project, and I got too excited and went to quickly on it, so it didn’t turn out as well as it could have. I should have made a muslin first, tested the fit, interfaced the bustier, read up on inserting bra cups , shortened the straps, ect.
Anyways, I’m excited to try this pattern again and do it properly this time. In a different fabric though, the faux leather made it look a bit like a stripper costume. What do you suggest for the next one?
And if you’re interested in trying the pattern yourself, I posted a link on my blog!! mollytov.com

Slightly stripperish or not, I think it looks great. You could cover up a bit with, say, a black half transparent mohair cardigan? You shouldn’t worry. It’s super nice, and you look so cute in it.

I think its lovely on you.i made a peplum top with faux leather and did.nt bother doing a muslin either! cue a top 3 sizes to small lol. a lot of extra work later and its a passable top.i think a dogtooth check fabric would qive this a vintage modern twist xx
