Wrap dress with pleated detail at the waist. This was my third garment…I started messing around with different methods of finishing seams/hemming, some of them with good outcomes. The hem of the dress is a baby hem, but the stitching ended up warping the material a little, so there’s this wavy effect. The top shoulder seams are flat felled, because the rest were french seams, and I figured that hey, while I’m at it, I can try flat felling this seam. It ended up messing with the drape, especially where the seam meets the sleeve. Bummer. Also, I’m not sure if this is the material or the pattern, but it’s kind of unflattering at the waist area, as it adds a bulky tummy lump. Maybe next time I’ll try shortening the bodice a little, and see if it’s a matter of where the waistline hits on my body.
Bad lighting. :(
The label on the material at the store said it was some sort of poly jersey…but when I got home, it ended up being some sort of other knit. Oh well, it’s still got a nice hand, which is what matters.

The dress looks great to me. I love the colour and of course I love working with jersey too. I like the pleat detail and I don’t think it looks bulky at all. Great make!bx
