Description

I used Simplicity’s 2922 pattern. I’ve had this pattern in my storage for over two years but pulled it out to try the sleeveless yoke variation. Then I found this pleated fabric at my local fabric store and paired it with leftover apparel lining for the neck yoke. It’s not a perfect match but I’m okay with the contrast.
I was so excited to find a way to showcase the fabric without disturbing the pleats.

The yoke was so easy yet stylish. I don’t know why I never tried it before.

Material Notes

1.5 yards pleated polyester, 1/2 yard of apparel lining, 22 in zipper, interfacing, thread

i’m currently working with a piece of prepleated fabric and i was wondering how did you hem yours (if at all)? it seems to me that the pleats would get disturebed if i hem it as i usually do with my machine.

I didn’t hem it for the same concern that you have. I saw when I cut it, the fabric at the bottom of the skirt it did not fray and looked okay left alone. I worried if I did try to hem it that it would just mess up the pleats. This is the first project that I didn’t hem.

Thank you. The underside of this dress is really the right side of the fabric but it had a weird gold sheen to it. So, I just used the less glamorous side and I thought it came out nice. I’m glad you like it!
