This is a plaid hight waisted skirt with the main colour being a neat purple. there is a pretty button on the back. I created a tab for the button hole as the zip was too short and did not feel like adding a waistband, i think its better like that.
the blouse is based off 1940s style patterns. I sketched and then drafted it myself. overall im happy with the blouse but next time i need to make myself a better fitting sleeve sloper. the arm holes and sleeves just didnt match up right. they were meant to be gathered on the shoulders but this didnt work out which is probably a good thing because i think the shirt would have ended up too puffy. Also, if i made this again i wouldn’t use so many buttons, while they look good they are unnecessary and are annoying to do up and take off! when i bought these fabrics i immediately knew they had to go together in an outfit like this. i think the colours work rather well together.
people say it looks like a school uniform.

Ooh, I love your blouse, I love the romantic look of the 40s. The tab for the button was a great solution for the too-short zip – it looks cute like that. ;-)
