Plaid shorts with side zipper

These were such a satisfying make and gave me the opportunity to practice new techniques. Namely, plaid matching, lapped zipper and my first attempt at making shorts! I used leftover fabric from my vintage plaid dress so it was a great stash bust too! I really must get that pile reduced before I invest in any more material. I can’t bear the way that Mr Ooobop! rolls his eyes at it, any longer!

More details and photos over at the usual place !

Material Notes

synthetic plaid fabric

Haha the plaid matching! well done, this can lead to a lot of frustration! Is the short for you or for your daughter? I like this fabric, altough it’s quiete unusual for shorts.

Cute shorts Janene and you have done a great job with the plaid matching. I am no great wiz at matching plaids but I do appreciate the effort that dressmakers go to, to make them match. I can’t stand fake Burberry handbags as the plaids are never matched. Have to give me the real thing!!
