For some strange reason, I’ve always wanted a large plaid lumberjack-style button-down shirt to layer over other shirts. And when I saw the designer Phillip Lim’s crazy coloured plaid shirts, I was like, “I want to make one!” Using a 1m remnant to make a pattern that requires just under 2m, AND matching side seam plaids was deathly, but by making it short sleeved I pulled it off. First attempt at collars, sleeves, and buttonholes, which were all kind of scary but worth it.

Hey, I love how you wanted something and instead of giving up and buying it, you just made it yourself! V. creative, and it looks really professional! That collar looks well good. xx

This is really cool. I love the colour and I like the way you put short sleeves on instead of the long ones.

This is a very cool shirt! I like the way you paired it with a T-shirt, makes it youthful and fun. Great work!
