Brooklyn, New Yo...
I made this skirt from a large plaid table cloth I found in a thrift store. I liked the colors and the print but didn’t know what to do with so much fabric until reading about the Pick Up Skirt Technique, here on BurdaStyle by Chissa83773.
Instead of using waistband elastic or zippers, this skirt is a wrap skirt and fastened with a tied waistband. Again, I used contrasting fabric for the waistband facing, this time it’s bright orange cotton.
These pictures were taken by friends at a Cuban Nights party, it was supposed to be 50s style Cuba. I didn’t exactly fit, but my skirt is large in size and high waisted, either way my friend Jon got the style dead on.
