I used the free Jennifer pattern from Burda Style for this top. The only changes I made was to make it into short sleeves rather than long sleeves and I also added sleeve tabs to make it a bit more casual. Although there are lots of pin tucks, I found that this shirt was not too difficult to make and will be okay for a beginner.
The only thing I don’t like about this is that the only opening/closure is 2 buttons at the back where the neck is. The opening is quite small so it is a little difficult trying to take the shirt off. Everytime I want to take it off, I need to place both hands diagonally across the bottom of the shirt and pull it off. So if you would like to make this I suggest that you modify the opening. Maybe you can change the front band to a real opening to make it easier to wear.
I used a cotton plaid fabric purchased from Spotlight.
