Description

Casual jacket with pockets and no closures. I am petite and so I did have to shortened this jacket by 4". I choose to leave the edges raw and used cover stitch as decorative stitching around jacket body, band with integrated collar and the pockets. Also, since I omitted the cuffs, I widened (1.5") and shortened the sleeves (1.5") and then used cover stitch on the sleeve edges. ( I added some photos showing how I did the in-seam pocket for the sew along.)

Material Notes

Pink plaid

Love the details. You are a funny girl, you make is sound like you are not a great seamstress and I disagree. Your understanding and detail of those pockets clearly shows you know what you are doing. I love how it turned out! I am finally working on mine today.

Yes, I should have known to not do a sew along like this during October, which is Halloween costume sewing season. That and work commitments…I just didn’t have the time. I did do some great costumes this year. It was funny I did the sew along to break myself into Burda for the first time, but then the night of a Halloween party I had 3.5 hours to make a shirt for my son’s costume which was a Burda pattern, and voila! I did my first burda pattern for him. This pattern instructions were SO poorly written. I think that if someone would sew this as an introduction to Burda, they would never come back. The shirt I made for my son, was simple. You had to know what you were doing, without all the extra instructions most US patterns have, but it was understandable.
